 Here is our data on advances (based on 64 entries) . We asked artists on our Instagram how they handled advances. While some artists found it hard to bring it up with their clients-worrying they may lose the opportunity, some said they always insist on advances and haven't been denied. Some artists said for work that had a quick turn around time, or with clients they trusted they did not ask for advances.
